AmeriCorps Members (multiple positions), Salud Family Health Centers
Various locations across Northern Colorado
AmeriCorps members play a very important role for Reach Out and Read at Salud Family Health Centers. They coordinate education for staff on how and when to give out books. They search for volunteers in the communities to read books to the children in our waiting rooms, along with keeping our inventory of books and getting donations for used books for our waiting rooms. Along with the coordination of Reach Out and Read, our members serve with different health outreach projects such as health education in schools, planning health fairs, conducting home visits for geriatric patients, pharmaceutical assistance programs, seeking the uninsured population to get health care and volunteer on our mobile clinic visiting underserved areas.

AmeriCorps Members (multiple positions), Metro Community Provider Network
Various locations throughout metro Denver
From the first year of Metro Community Provider Network HealthCorps in 1995, the program’s goal has been to positively impact the lives of clinic patients through education, increased outreach services, case management services and resource referrals with other community agencies. The program also seeks to enhance member’s life experience through professional development, training and direct service experience. HealthCorps members serve within four basic program areas: Health and Wellness Educators, School Based Health, Homeless Outreach Team, and Maternal Child Health Educators. In addition, AmeriCorps members act as ROR Site Coordinators at the clinics where they serve.
All applicants must meet standard AmeriCorps eligibility requirements as well as the following: strong interest in medical outreach and services, conversational Spanish skills highly recommended, strong facilitation skills, and ability to work well in a team and individually. The Program Year is September-August, 11 months and 1700 hours of service. Benefits offered include a living stipend, health insurance and extensive training; educational awards upon completion of committed hours at work.
